About Dennis Goedegebuure
I was born in Naarden and grew up around Bussum, where I went to St Vitus College and played field hockey at Gooische. I took a master's degree at the University of Amsterdam, then spent the next two decades working on one problem from several sides: how organizations get found, and what happens after they are.
My career started in search at eBay. Airbnb followed, then Fanatics in the United States, where the SEO team I was part of won Best In-House Team at the US Search Awards in 2018. PayPal followed, and most recently I was VP Marketing at Bitdefender, before a period with Fancard. Along the way there was a Webby Award and a second US Search Award. The longer version, stop by stop, is on the career page.
Fifteen of those years were in California: San Francisco, Pleasanton and San Jose. The photographs in my entity graph come from that life as much as from this one.
Today I live in Wassenaar and run TNC Visibility, the consultancy of TNC Brand Strategy BV. Through it I help organizations win attention and trust in search and in AI answers, and I build the operating systems that keep that work compounding. My own ventures include Fan Signal Desk, Jersey Grail, ShopTwits, Black Coffee, Tulip Magazine and Architectural Atlas.
Off the clock I manage my son's under-14 hockey team at HGC, which is the most honest management job I have. I am married, with four children, three dogs (Cooper, Bennet and Lola) and a cat, Spencer. Our previous dog, Auggie Moon, died in February 2025.
Elsewhere: my consultancy lives at thenextcorner.com, and I post on X as @TheNextCorner. For the full picture, drawn as a graph, see the entity map.
